I think Chitwood - despite some of his comments - has his heart in the right place but is handicapped by local government. The city is controlled by a gang of thugs to serve their multimillionaire cronies. Just recently a member of the NASCAR France family said: &quot;WE OWN THIS CITY when stopped by a cop and charged with DUI and Drug offenses.<br /><br />His cousin got stopped a few years ago after running into a tree, many witnesses indicated he was drunk, he was not even issued a ticket...<br /><br />It is the selective enforcement of laws that makes Daytona Beach one of the most corrupt cities in Florida. Same with code enforcement actions used to attach political enemies. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been pilfered by the City Commission, often into the hands of their cronies. The city is nearly bankrupt yet there is always public money available to fund hobbies of their friends.Herb M.noreply@blogger.com
