Daytona Beach: The moral breakdown of a city mired in corruption

This video, believe it or not, was filmed last year by Daytona Beach youths. It illustrates the moral breakdown that has besieged our dear city. The cheering youths were among the voices encouraging the barbaric encounter.

For several minutes, two men are shown on video attacking and pummeling each other in Daytona Beach. No one tries to break up the fight and several people are heard cheering the blows exchanged between the men -- who are apparently homeless.

The American Civil Liberties Union told Local 6 News that they are concerned about teens going around and videotaping these types of fights.

Last year, a 15-year-old in Volusia County was sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing a homeless man. The teen was convicted with three other teens earlier in the year.

WARNING – Graphic content

So, while our illustrious commissioners award $500,000 gifts of the public trust to their wealthy campaign contributors to pay for their indulgences and pet projects, the city’s youths are left without outreach educational programs, jobs and opportunities to develop as productive members of society.

It has long been known that the cost inflicted by a corrupt public official to the local economy is several orders of magnitude larger than the benefits the patron gains by the malfeasance.
