I love Daytona Beach and have been coming here for years. If I could maintain a living in Daytona Beach I would move there today. I was extremely upset and sickened however by the disrespect and uncaring that went on at the beach across from the Hilton Sunday night by the hip hop crowd at the set up on the beach. The crowd hung out in front of the Hilton harassing folks on the boardwalk while drinking and smoking pot. Some of the harassment was racially motivated. After the little show there were hundreds of empty cups and assorted trash left lying about. The “entertainment” organizer did not have a cleanup crew and after they packed up their equipment, just left. The tide eventually washed the trash out to sea, as sad as that was. I thought that Daytona Beach took pride on the cleanliness of their beaches but, now I am wondering if Daytona should any longer be on my yearly vacation list.
